Soleil Power is building East Africa’s first production-scale lithium-ion battery assembly plant to serve the growing demand for stationary energy storage and e-mobility battery solutions.

We design our battery management systems in-house to ensure they deliver the features our customers need. And we use LiFePO4 cell chemistry, the safest lithium-ion technology available and the most suitable for our customer’s applications.

Our customers inspire us. They are building the region’s next generation green infrastructure including renewable energy mini-grids, non-emitting backup power solutions, and electric vehicles and machinery. We are proud to be a part of this revolution.

Soleil Power's lithium-ion battery assembly plant in Uganda is a beacon of sustainability, aligning with eight of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By fostering gender equality (SDG 5) with a 50% female workforce target, Soleil Power promotes workplace diversity and empowers women. The lithium-ion batteries themselves contribute to clean and affordable energy (SDG 7) by enabling storage for renewable energy projects and batteries for e-mobility applications.

This ties into responsible consumption and production (SDG 12) as well as climate action (SDG 13) by facilitating the shift towards renewable energy sources and reducing reliance on fossil fuels. Furthermore, creating second-life applications for batteries (partnering for SDG 17) extends their lifespan and minimizes waste (SDG 12). Moreover, by generating jobs within Uganda (SDG 8), Soleil Power stimulates economic growth (SDG 8) and fosters innovation in the region (SDG 9), making a positive impact on Ugandan society and the environment.
